Dronning Åsta is a 20-meter-long Viking ship, built as a hybrid replica of the Klåstad ship, using traditional methods and over 120,000 hours of volunteer work. The ship was launched on August 30, 2025, in Steinsfjorden, and is now moored at Sundvolden in the municipality of Hole – just a short walk from Sundvolden Hotel.

This project is the result of eight years of dedicated effort by the Hardraade Viking Ship Association, with the goal of preserving and sharing Norwegian Viking history, crafts, and culture. Here you can experience authentic boatbuilding, blacksmithing, runic writing, woodcarving, and rowing – all in a vibrant setting.

Open to the public every Saturday from 11:00–15:00 and Thursday from 16:00–20:00
