Espen Dietrichson (born September 17, 1976, in Stavanger) is a Norwegian visual artist. He grew up in Arendal and currently lives in Oslo. Dietrichson was educated at Oslo Drawing and Painting School (1998–2000) and the National Academy of Fine Arts (2000–2004).
Espen Dietrichson mainly works with sculpture. In recent years, he has also exhibited drawings and silkscreens. In 2008, Tore Ellingsen of Agderposten described Dietrichson's works as follows:
The works have clear references to modernist architecture and balance in the tension field between the functional and the dysfunctional. In addition, the craftsmanship both in construction and surface is significantly present. The form is clearly defined. There is a careful interplay between idea and execution. The drawings have developed from sketches as preliminary studies to independent works that have gained greater significance in the exhibition space.
