My Care information

When you visit Sundvolden Hotel, you can always be confident that we do everything to strictly adhere to the infection control regulations.

For our efforts, Sundvolden Hotel has been rewarded with the official My CareTM seal.

To succeed in effective infection control, it requires not only a lot from us but also a little from you as a guest. A visible proof that Sundvolden Hotel prioritizes safety and infection control is our My CareTM certification issued by DNV GL, one of the world's leading risk and classification companies. The certification means that all our procedures have been carefully reviewed and assessed as very good. While it should perhaps be a given, the stamp is nonetheless something we are extremely proud to have earned. The quality assurance applies to the past period, the current period, and it will also apply to the time ahead.

You can trust this as our guest!

Infection Prevention Guidelines at Sundvolden Hotel

Sundvolden's goal is to be a good and safe place for guests, employees, and suppliers.

We have approximately 25,000m2 to accommodate our guests, so if anyone is to maintain a good distance in both meetings and meals, it's us!

We have purchased floor mats that remove viruses when stepped on. This demonstrates that viruses are largely transmitted through the feet.

We have also invested in and installed ActivePure machines from Ventitech for ionizing the air in meeting rooms and common areas. This helps keep the air and surfaces free from viruses and bacteria.

If you are sick or have symptoms, we expect you as a guest to take responsibility and not show up in accordance with national guidelines.

What do we expect from you and what should you be aware of?

General:

- Sick guests and employees must stay home - this is the most important measure we can all contribute to!

- Please step on our virus mats when you arrive - it's safest for all of us.

- Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of the tissue after use. Then wash your hands.

- Use your elbow when you need to cough or sneeze and do not have a tissue available.

- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly. Hand sanitizers with alcohol-based agents are a good alternative when handwashing is not possible.

- Sundvolden Hotel is equipped with automatic sanitizing dispensers in all common areas, at all entrances, and in all dining areas - a total of 14.

- Avoid touching items, surfaces, doors, or other points in the hotel.

- We ensure frequent cleaning of all exposed surfaces. We use ozone water, which is bactericidal.

Rooms, Toilets, and Common Areas:

- We try to check in all overnight guests as early as possible - this way, you have your own bathroom that you should strive to use.

- We distribute all room keys directly to group organizers when the rooms are ready. The group organizer is responsible for distributing them to their participants.

- Shared toilets are reserved for day guests and visitors who are not staying overnight. All toilets in common areas are cleaned regularly.

- We ask you, as a guest, to avoid crowding at the entrance, serving areas, reception, and during meal and meeting room entrances.

- If you are attending a conference with us, please do not spend time in common areas but find your seat in the conference room as early as possible.

- All guests arriving as a group must submit names in advance - this applies to both overnight and day guests. It is your responsibility as the organizer to provide this information well in advance of arrival at the hotel.

- If you are staying with us for multiple days, we will not clean your room or enter your room during your stay. If you need towels or cleaning, please contact the reception.

Meals:

- The number of guests at a table must not exceed the capacity to maintain infection control measures. We facilitate a 1-meter distance between guests.

- Our dinner guests are welcome to stay at the table beyond the mealtime - the bar may not always be available.

- We have enabled card payment and other cashless forms of payment (Favrit).

- It will be possible to purchase alcohol from us according to applicable national regulations - this applies every day of the week. In our bars, table service is available - sit down and order via the app, and we will serve you at the table.

- Maintain distance even after dinner - the virus does not sleep!

Meeting Room:

- For course organizers, we kindly ask you to consider the following: please sanitize the lectern and/or handheld microphones between each person - equipment for this is available in the meeting room. All technical equipment is operated by hotel staff.

- We consider our bookers to be responsible organizers of their events, and they are obliged to comply with regulations regarding registration of participants, risk assessment of their events, and informing about measures, regulations, and requirements in accordance with the law.

- We encourage the use of electronic sharing of papers and information.

- Guests should not gather closely in the room but mainly sit at tables - organizers should allocate some extra time for movement.

- We have at least 1-meter distance between table setups indoors and outdoors.

- It will be possible to get water from dispensers; otherwise, bottled water is available for purchase at both the reception and the restaurant.

- All refreshments ordered from us are individually packaged and displayed so that each person can take their packaged item.

We reiterate - all our guests are encouraged to practice good hand hygiene throughout their stay.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you as our guest.

This is not an ideal world for either you or us, but something we have to live with for a period of time.

We greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have after your stay - please feel free to email us with your input at cl@sundvolden.no (Cecilie Laeskogen - General Manager).

We wish you a pleasant stay and are here to assist you with any inquiries before or during your stay.

Best regards, Team Sundvolden!
